Wellbeing Week – Q&A

  1. Our students from home are getting a restriction error when they try to access the YouTube links?

This issue is happening for NSW Department of Education students. With NSW DE preparing for students to return to school, the IT department has started reimplementing the NSW DE filters which block YouTube.
DART Learning has now embedded the YouTube link for each session into a page on our website, allowing students to watch it.  The link initially sent to students will now automatically direct them to this new page.
As a teacher, you do not need to do anything.
For extra backup, just in case the above is still an issue, there is a link to a VIMEO recording for each primary session, listed in the Primary Timetable above.

  2. Our school’s students do not have access to YouTube?

If you’re from a school who is unable to use the YouTube Live links due to website filtering for your school network, a solution is the teacher can create their own Zoom meeting for the same time slot as the DART Learning event and invite your students as you would normally do for any school Zoom meeting. Then the teacher would join the Wellbeing Week YouTube session and share your screen for students to watch.

  3. I received an email with all the links to every session, but I didn’t book in for all of them?

We understand that you may not have registered for all the events, but because we have had such a great response to our Wellbeing Week events, one email to all the teachers to distribute to their students was the most efficient and practical way to manage connections. DART Learning are ensuring the information is available so we do not become overwhelmed with enquiries during the week of virtual events.

  4. Are parents allowed to book themselves and their own children in to sessions?
Although our website and the terminology is built around teachers, homeschools and parents can book their children in to sessions. If the form asks for “school name”, please add the name of your child’s school.
There are lots of great sessions available, live and on demand.  Use the filters under Browse Excursions – Key Learning Area, Topic, Stage, Years, Providers, Special Filters – to find relevant content for your students.

  5. What do I need to join the Wellbeing Week sessions?
You need internet connection and the joining links

  6. Is there a limit to the number of students who can attend?
No, everyone who wants to join will be able to watch. The table above displays the duration each event will be available for on YouTube.

  7. Is this just for NSW Department of Education students, or can anyone watch?
Anyone can register and watch.  We have had registrations from every state and territory across Australia! We are all in this together.

  8. Will students in lockdown be able to access the Wellbeing Week events from home?
Yes, as long as they have internet connection. These events will be delivered via YouTube live. Simply send your students this link https://edu.nsw.link/DARTLearning/JoinWBWeek so they can join their session

  9. What if we can’t attend at the designated time?
The timetable above shows the availability of each session. Some sessions are only available on the day of the event, others will be available until the end of Wellbeing Week on 15th October, and some will be available until the end of October.  Please check the table so you don’t miss out.
